Traditionally, only Hwa Rang Do Black Sashes have had the privilege of wearing the Formal Hwa Rang Do Jaebok (Formal Wear) for special events, such as formal banquets, dinner, testing, tournament, meetings, seminars, awards ceremonies and other HRD special events. In Hwa Rang Do, becoming a Black Sash is seen as a lifetime commitment to the service of humanity and in the process, being a representative of our art in the most dignified way possible.

The Jaebok symbolized the commitment an individual had to fulfilling their duties to their art and humanity, much like the brave men and women of the world's armed forces fulfill their commitments to their people and country, in the face of great adversity. Black Sashes to us are seen as warriors and should have the appropriate attire to symbolize that.

However, most recently a small group of very brave Tae Soo Do and Hwa Rang Do practioners, went on a mission to Angola to bring hope and joy to the poorest children in the world, in the most dangerous conditions in the world. They used the lessons from their teachers and art, to inspire and empower people they had never met and whose language they didn't even speak.

It was clear to all of us that Hwa Rang Do and Tae Soo Do impact our members in a very powerful way and this mission proved to us that ALL our members, from white belt through the highest ranking Black Sash can be powerful examples of what our art may do for humanity.

Therefore if all members have within them to make a powerful impact on our society and bring such honor to Hwa Rang Do, then ALL our members should have the privilege of wearing the Formal Hwa Rang Do Jaebok.

Pant Waist size will be -6 from coat size. For example, coat of 44R will come with a size 38 waist pants.

Shipping within the U.S. is Free. If you live outside the U.S., you'll need to coordinate with the Hwa Rang Do World Headquarters to have your Jaebok delivered. Additional shipping costs may apply.

Due to the level of custom tailoring being done for the Jaebok, no refunds are available, after your pre-order and measurements have been submitted to the manufacturer.
