The President of the Korean Hwa Rang Do® Association (KHRDA), Mr. Yong Suk Kim, founded the Hwarang Lions Club in December of 2004. As some of you are aware, our Chairman Doo Hoon Ahn of the (KHRDA) is the regional director of the entire Lions Club Chapters in the Far East and President of the Korean Chapter. Through his assistance, President Kim created the Hwarang Lions as a sponsor support group for Hwa Rang Do® in Korea. Their mission is to reintroduce the ideals of the Hwarang and spread its influence through the leaders of Korea today. It is currently compromised of over 30 members of some of the finest leaders of business, industry, and culture in Korea.

On Saturday, January 29, 2005, the historical first Hwarang Lions meeting was held. This started as a simple mountain walk, enjoying the majestic natural beauty of the Korean mountain range, which turned into quite an adventure. The morning started with a drizzle in the cold winter air, which later turned into a beautiful snow fall, then finished off the day with the warm sun peaking through clouds. They witnessed all four seasons in one day, finishing this awesome experience of nature with a nice Korean brunch.
