The West Coast Teuk Gong Team rallied around “the octagon” in early February to witness the Ultimate Fighting Championship at Angela Shih and Jon Liu’s lovely new home.  Fists of fury combined with barbequed hamburgers, hot links and hotdogs made for great fare as the Special Forces broke bread and admired the tattoos and techniques displayed on-screen.

Watching the action proved doubly entertaining, as our own Gotoogi Champion, Matthew Kim, made sure to point out the different techniques and moves being applied, and Chief Master Lee announced the level of skill each contestant had, based on their application and execution of various attacks and defenses. 

Not only did we join in fellowship, but Master Lee also directed us to keep up the good work, supporting students at the Academy, both experienced and novice, and continuing in our own training.  We dispersed with renewed vigor and determination to do our best, to continue growing as Hwarang family, and to serve our whobae better than ever!

Oh, and Mr. Kim turned 19 at midnight!
