The West Coast Hwa Rang Do^® Academy (WCHRDA) is an eclectic martial arts school, which teaches the most comprehensive martial art as well as maintaining the high values and work ethics of classical Eastern philosophies. The school opened in June of 1994 and is headed by Chief Master Taejoon Lee. Chief Master Lee is the eldest son of the Founder, Dr. Joo Bang Lee and the Vice-president of the World Hwa Rang Do^® Association. He also heads the European HRD Headquarters as well as the Korean Headquarters. He was born in Korea, but gained most of his education here in the United States. The WCHRDA is a reflection of Chief Master Lee's comprehensive worldview. Understanding both the Oriental and Occidental social, political and philosophical perspectives, Chief Master Lee has created a balanced and harmonious environment where its patrons can learn to appreciate the values of both Eastern and Western thought.

The goal here at our Academy is to understand balance, maximizing our human potentials, and ultimately, achieve harmony with the self, the humanity, the world, and the universe.
